BEES UK has a proud record of delivering inspirational results that work. Our mission is to create effective lasting change in education services where other attempts have failed.
Our team understands that not every young person fits comfortably within the academic model created by the National Curriculum. Regardless of ability, there are those for whom a classroom feels like a crucible and who find themselves marginalised by the prescriptive nature of mainstream education. This harms their confidence and self-worth leaving them feeling disengaged. The result can be an impossible situation and additional work-load for teaching staff.
BEES UK works to re-engage these people by placing them in environments that better match their learning styles. Through co-curricular projects such as business enterprise, animal care, fishing and foraging, and aquaponics, young people are empowered and inspired to unlock their creativity.
Located on farmland at the edge of Plymouth, BEES UK works with schools across the city and local area as well as businesses and families.
We believe that social and emotional well-being should be the foundations we build upon. Our vision is to make this a priority throughout the education system.
Recognising needs and implementing support, reduces harmful behaviours. Modelling and developing social and emotional skills in children creates confidence, self-worth and self-belief by default. Working together reduces negative learned perceptions that can be damaging at every level.
